Dynam - The Mothership

Origins of Dynam

It all began in a garage in Bangalore, not with a business plan, but with a belief — that Indian children deserved to learn science through wonder, not rote. When Hari Parameswaran returned from engineering college, his father, K.G. Parameswaran, asked where he’d like to go next — the US, Germany, Sweden? Hari’s answer was different: “I want to stay and build something here.”

That ‘something’ became Dynam. Alongside his brother Gopi, Hari handcrafted India’s first electrical science kit — 60 experiments from a simple bulb to a working motor, designed to teach through doing. The first run received only a 0.1% response rate, but instead of quitting, Hari and Gopi packed their kits on a scooter and visited schools in person — proving quality face to face.

About Hari Parameswaran

Hari is the founder of several impactful initiatives, including the Young Inventor Award, Dynam Creativity Programmes, and the Dynam Vocational Skill Training Centre(DVSTC) for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Bangalore. He and his team regularly conduct Discovery Science Programs in schools and offers teacher training workshops focused on creative education. A sought-after creativity consultant, Hari has conducted workshops and innovation sessions for leading institutions and industries across India and internationally.

Hari has also worked extensively with the Technical Training Centre for the Deaf, training India’s first batch of hearing-impaired students in electronics. His life’s mission continues to be empowering education through creativity, hands-on learning, and inclusive innovation.

Hari has also proudly represented India at international educational fairs including DIDACTA in Germany, the Gulf Education and Training Fair in Dubai….

Andal Cares Trust

Govind Bommi established the Andal Cares Fund in honour of his mother to support eldercare causes amongst others.

Govind Bommi’s mother, Andal, had always been a strong influence in his life since he was a child.

Govind’s family was not well-to-do, living in a modest house in Bangalore, India. His parents had six children and lived off a single income. Yet, Govind’s mother was generous, even to strangers, he recalled. Despite having little, she would set aside a portion of cooked food – not leftovers – for beggars who would come around in the evening. He said, “She believed that if you had enough, you should share it with others because we are only temporary keepers of what we own.”

Govind a very successful industrialist, is today, a totally focussed philanthropist with many grassroot projects across the world running under the auspices of Andal Cares.

SMT. THANGAM RAJAGOPALAN ON HER JOURNEY | REFLECTION AND INTROSPECTION!

Indeed 40 years is a long period by any stretch of imagination, but… to me it seems like we started DVSTC just ‘the other day’. Every moment of these 40 years is etched fresh in my memory as though it just happened. I would  like to go further down the memory  lane….

As a little girl of 5yrs, I used to play a game where I would be the teacher. All the items in each room would be my students. I would stand in front of every piece of furniture in the living room and say ‘I  am a teacher, but different’ (In my mother tongue Tamil ‘naan oru teacher aana vera madiri’). Then I would go into the kitchen where all the spoons, plates and glasses would be the students.  My final session of the day would be inside the pooja room. Standing in front of the altar, I would address every deity in the picture and would repeat ‘I am a teacher but different’ I would hold the idols in my tiny hands and repeat the same lesson. This game, I would religiously play thrice everyday for a couple of years. The seed of being a ‘different teacher’ was sown by God at that age. As the years rolled by, the thought went deeper into my sub-conscious and super-conscious levels.

In my growing years I often felt…  ‘why isn’t this teacher teaching in a way I can understand?’.   God has bestowed his blessings on me. In 1982 I met the right person at the right time – none other than Sri. Hari Parameswaran. He has been my mentor and guide since then. His motivation and confidence in my abilities has helped me evolve into the person I am today. When I started working as a teacher it was neither my  passion, profession nor an occupation or vocation. For me, even today, it is a Prayer and an offering …a response to a  divine call… the seed of which was sown by God at that tender age. I have dedicated my life to the cause of empowering children with special education needs. I have always considered myself as Yashoda maiya of these wonderful Krishnas and Krishnavenis. I realised the depth of the statement. ‘I am a teacher, but different’. I have become that teacher who is making a difference in their lives, transforming them into enabled, empowered, self-confident and wonderful human beings.

As I reflect the 40 years of my wonderful time with these children I feel I am a very blessed soul  and my guru. Sri Paramahansa Yogananda made me realise why God created me. Jai Guru🙏
